I have no problem calling the likes of Dazak, Hotez, and Andersen unethical money-grubbing-narcissist-elitists-liar-propagandists … but scientists? Nope.

Great article! This would make a great great reading assignment for a science undergrad ethics course, and could spur good discussion.

Looking at you and your fellow scientists from my vantage point among those trained in journalism, I think science is in a much better position than journalism in terms of devotion to truth and ethical principles. Good article. As usual, I enjoyed reading it--but aren't you supposed to be keeping busy by staying happy and shopping at REI? I guess some details deserve attention.

Thank you for this inspiring article. The public needs to work on its bullshit meter, because we've been deep in the do-do since January 2020.

Fauci's attitude made it easy to doubt him, even to ridicule him. But others fooled me, for awhile.

(My excuse is that as a mathematician, my science classes were limited to chemistry and physics.)

Alex hold your head up high. You are amongst the rare few who still have more ethics than arrogance & loathing of the politically “wrong” people. I have little respect left for many scientists & even health care workers, because of they way they behaved towards people during Covid. I do think there is a heavy political element which has made me remember that book smart is often not even that smart, to be truly intelligent you must also know how to navigate a situation on numerous levels, something they failed at. I truly believe that hard left wing seemingly educated people have become blinded & so obsessed that they now ignore, miss or can’t see certain signals, which is beyond evident in the world of science.

There must be a recognition that Covid came from the labs of science not a market. It has been too disastrous for the world to let this slide. Please don’t allow that to happen.

Alex, you always have so much depth in your writing. It’s so heart felt. I love reading you. I wish you were there on May 1st to untangle the web of lies that to the untrained mind, sounds legitimate. If the purpose of this questioning is to give the look of a honest investigation only, it’s scary. Or do these people like Daszak wield that much power that cowers the inquisitors? Is it really that rigged? There’s a researcher in Toronto Dr. Nancy Olivieri who has been fighting corrupt clinical trials for decades. Obviously, not popular with many. She won’t back down. Standing up against power is her strength. We have to feel fortunate to have people like you and Dr. Oliviera in this world. Gives us faith.

It may be that Scientists are indeed born with a pathological trait of actively setting out to disprove oneself and that this cannot be taught.

There is literature in psychology that contends that confirmation bias (i.e. proof by example) is widespread. Graduate students - PhD being arguably the only way to become professional scientist these days - are not selected based on pyschometric tests (assuming one can measure propensity for confirmation bias etc), but purely on analytical prowess.

Alex you have probably already seen this but I’m linking it anyway, just more evidence that Covid came from a lab.

When you write: “If the COVID-19 pandemic was caused by a lab accident, then it means 1 million American citizens and 20 million worldwide died by the arrogance of our enterprise.”

Respectfully, please show your work. The math, and the evidence that grounds that math is vitally important. The implication of that sentence is that the official death toll numbers are indeed attributable to a lab-created pathogen, and nothing else. Where is the data that confirms and verifies this, and accounts for confounding factors and potential misattribution?

Thank you.
